Launch of the Education Sector Fund: Digital Inclusion
The Ceibal Foundation presents the 7th edition of the EdTech Winter School, organized with the support of the National Research and Innovation Agency (ANII). The purpose of the event, to be held online on Tuesday, September 5th at 10:00 a.m., is the launch of the Education Sector Fund: Digital Inclusion (Spanish acronym: FSED) and the presentation of the priority lines of the 2023 call, defined in conjunction with Ceibal in coordination with the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP).
This meeting will seek to create a space that will act as a framework to promote the production of research projects to be submitted to the Education Sector Fund. In line with this goal, representatives from the Ceibal Foundation, ANII, Ceibal and ANEP will outline the 2023 call and explain how to submit projects. There will also be a space for inquiries, and at the end of the meeting, audiovisuals made by the lead researchers of the projects selected in the 2022 Education Sector Fund call will be shared.
The Education Sector Fund is a tool designed to fund research projects whose implementation may result in proposals that can be applied and transferred to the educational context of Uruguay. The Education Sector Fund is aimed at research groups from national or international public or private institutions, which paves the way for the creation of regional partnerships and enhances the impact of the projects. In the event that the applicant is a foreign-based institution, it must have a local counterpart in Uruguay.
This edition of the EdTech Winter School started with a first phase that took place in the context of the Global Launch of the 2023 GEM Report on technology in education on July 27th in a blended format. This meeting featured a plenary activity that involved the panel discussion “Research in education and technology: towards an innovative, inclusive agenda” and an exhibition of projects approved by the Education Sector Fund. The objective of the digital exhibition was to showcase the research studies and their findings through posters that were made specially for the occasion.
