Strengthening EdTech (educational technology) capacities, evidence and policies to improve learning outcomes for vulnerable students in Latin America and the Caribbean
The Ceibal Foundation is carrying out the project “Strengthening EdTech (educational technology) capacities, evidence and policies to improve learning outcomes for vulnerable students in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC)”, which addresses three main problems identified in the region: the lack of tried-and-tested, context-specific, low-cost educational approaches to EdTech; the absence of regional strategies to support the implementation of EdTech with a lifelong learning approach, and limited guidance and protocols on the mainstreaming of artificial intelligence (AI) into education.
This project began on June 1, 2024 and it aims to produce new evidence on EdTech in public education in LAC, strengthen the capacities of key players to devise robust, sustainable, learning-oriented EdTech policies and interventions; and improve collaboration and mobilization of knowledge for exchange and learning among peers through the ADELA network.
This initiative is funded by Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC), and it is expected that ADELA will act as a space that will foster the sharing of experiences, knowledge and best practices to enhance the capacities of education ministries for the proper use of technology in education.
