The international publication “The Transformative Potential of Data for Learning”, prepared by the Broadband Commission, portrays Ceibal as a case that stands out for its use of data for learning. This document presents the preliminary findings of the first year of the two-year cycle of the Broadband Commission’s Working Group on Data for Learning, in which the Ceibal Foundation is represented by its director, María Florencia Ripani, as an expert.
Ceibal Foundation’s description of Ceibal’s work resulted in a section being included in the first chapter which describes the lines of work that are being implemented. It includes Information on the use and display of data with the challenge of generating accessible, timely and valuable information for Ceibal’s decisionmakers, the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP), school leaders, teachers and the education community at large. The publication also highlights the use of data for educational management, the design of behaviour interventions, the ownership of mathematics platforms, teaching and learning, and improved user experience.
Made up of UNICEF, UNESCO and the International Telecommunications Union, the Broadband Commission is one of the most influential organizations fostering internet access. It brings together high-level leaders from the public and private sectors, and one of its tasks is to produce recommendations on progress towards achieving the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
