Building a resilient education system, 15 years of Ceibal

The Ceibal Foundation presents the 6th edition of the EdTech Winter School, which will be held on September 9th and 10th, organised with the support of the National Research and Innovation Agency (ANII). This edition will delve into the topic of building resilient education systems with a focus on resilience and innovation, propose a reflection on Ceibal’s first 15 years, and launch the 2022 call of the Education Sector Fund: Digital Inclusion.

The purpose of this activity is to create a space for international reflection on education and new technologies that will serve as a framework to promote the generation of research projects to be presented at the FSED. It´s aimed at policy makers, researchers and the education community in general.

The Winter School will involve a first plenary day with prominent national and international speakers. Their presentations will be accompanied by a concept map that will be developed gradually with the key concepts. In addition, the Ceibal Foundation will include humour, a resource that it has been using in its outreach strategy to prompt reflection. This space will feature actress and presenter Manuela Da Silveira, who will address the main issues in a different, entertaining way.

The second day of the Winter School will be devoted to the launch of the Education Sector Fund: Digital Inclusion (FSED) and the priority thematic lines of the 2022 call defined in conjunction with Ceibal in coordination with the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP). In addition, a space will be allocated for the presentation of projects selected in the context of the FSED that have been completed or are being implemented.

The aim of the FSED is to fund research projects that will provide original data on existing knowledge in the field of teaching and learning mediated by digital technologies that may be related to social or education aspects of Ceibal. This tool is being implemented by the Ceibal Foundation and ANII.
