The Ceibal Foundation and the National Research and Innovation Agency (ANII) announce the opening of the Education Sector Fund (FSED) Digital Inclusion modality. The purpose of the call is to fund research projects that will provide original data on existing knowledge in the field of teaching and learning mediated by digital technologies that may be related to social or education aspects of Ceibal.
This edition of the Education Sector Fund will involve the submission of ideas to be developed around the priority thematic lines defined in conjunction with Ceibal and the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP), and whose implementation may result in proposals or inputs that can be applied or transferred to Uruguay’s educational context. The ideas submitted will be assessed, and those found to be relevant and in line with the priorities will move on to a second stage where the project proposal must be submitted for an assessment of technical and applicability aspects.
Through this instrument, as much as 80% of the total cost of the project will be funded with a maximum grant of UYU 2,900,000. The minimum contribution to be made by the beneficiary institutions will be 20% of the expected investment in the project. The projects may have a duration of 8 to 24 months, with priority given to projects not exceeding 16 months.
The Education Sector Fund is aimed at researchers or research groups from national or international public or private institutions, which paves the way for partnerships with institutions from other countries and enhances the impact of the projects. In the event that the applicant institution is foreign-based, it must have a local counterpart, so the project will have two proponent institutions.
MODALITIES AND PRIORITY LINES
Modality A: Aimed at priority issues and with findings applicable to Ceibal in coordination with the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP).
Modality B: Aimed at Ceibal Foundation’s broad lines of interest.
The 2023 call is the ninth edition since the Fund was created in 2015. The implementation of 63 research projects of both national and international institutions has been funded and supported through the call in the field of education and technology.
