Ceibal Foundation, together with the National Research and Innovation Agency (ANII), and with the support of IDRC Canada, announces the 5 projects that have been selected in Modality B of the sixth edition of the Education Sector Fund: “Digital Inclusion: Education with New Horizons” (FSED). They will be funded by Ceibal Foundation through the ADELA (Alliance for the Digitalisation of Education in Latin America) project, funded by IDRC Canada.
The aim of Modality B of the Education Sector Fund is the funding of projects or initiatives up to 5 months in length that will provide concrete solutions to problems or needs in Latin American and Caribbean countries for the continuation of education during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The call was launched in 2020, and a total of 23 proposals were submitted, 10 of which made it through to the formulation phase. Finally, 5 were selected as beneficiaries of the funds. The proposals are from Costa Rica, Honduras, Uruguay, Mexico and Colombia.

The Fund is an initiative of Ceibal Foundation and ANII. It has been in operation since 2015 and was supported by IDRC Canada between 2018 and 2020 as part of the ADELA project led by Ceibal Foundation. Its purpose is the funding of research projects consistent with one or more of the priority lines and topics whose implementation may result in proposals or inputs that can be applied or transferred to the educational context. The implementation of 41 national and international research projects has been funded and supported to date in the field of education and technology.
The projects submitted in Modality A of the 2020 Education Sector Fund are still being assessed, and the results will be announced in the coming weeks.
