Results of the call FSED Digital Inclusion 2018

The National Agency for Research and Innovation (Spanish acronym: ANII) and Ceibal Foundation have completed the process of assessing and selecting research projects in the context of the 2018 edition of EDUCATION SECTOR FUND “DIGITAL INCLUSION: EDUCATION WITH NEW HORIZONS.” As of this edition, the fund is supported by IDRC.

The call was open from May 29 to July 19, 2018. Initially, 48 project ideas were received, of which 44 proposals passed the eligibility analysis and went on to the next phase with the Agenda Committee (AC).

In that first stage, the relevance of the projects was assessed and a prioritization analysis was made, after which a total of 20 proposals were selected for complete project formulation.

For the second stage, 17 ideas submitted their complete projects. In accordance with the Operating Regulations established by the Fund, these proposals were assessed by the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee as well as by at least two external assessors.

The Agenda Committee then received the final report of the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee. The suggested short list was analyzed and, considering the priority of the proposed topics, the decision was made to recommend the following projects for funding:

• FSED_2_2018_1_150661 – Programa para la promoción de habilidades socioemocionales para la convivencia en educación media incorporando TICs: formación docente y evaluación de impacto (Programme for the promotion of socio-emotional skills for coexistence in secondary education by incorporating ICTs: teacher training and impact evaluation (Catholic University of Uruguay – School of Psychology)
• FSED_2_2018_1_150716 – Proyecto Piloto Laboratorio de Ciencias Vivas con tecnologías “Házlo tú mismo” (DIY), “Házlo con Otros” (DIWO) y, “Trae tu propio dispositivo” [BYOD] (Live Science Laboratory Pilot Project using “Do it yourself” (DIY), “Do it with Others” (DIWO), and “Bring your own device” (BYOD) technologies) (Education Training Council)
