Strategies and resources for digital education
With the support of Facebook, the Ceibal Foundation has implemented the project “Strategies and resources for digital education”, whose technical design was the responsibility of Plan Ceibal’s Training department. This training sought to provide 7,000 teachers with tools and skills for the implementation of education projects in digital environments and promote the mainstreaming of innovative technologies and strategies into teaching practices.
Various topics were addressed at different stages, such as teaching in the digital age, tips on online education, designing education projects integrating various approaches and resources, social and emotional learning, platforms and tools for creating and editing digital content that will facilitate online and blended education, assessment, digital citizenship, grooming and cyberbullying.
Activities:
Webinar
On Tuesday the 28th of September at 11 am, the first activity of the project took place: the webinar “Strategies and resources for digital education”, which was streamed on Plan Ceibal’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
Specialists El Faro Digital (Argentina), Lucía Fainboim, Director of Education, and Ezequiel Passeron, Institutional Director, invited an exchange and debate on the role of teachers in digital environments. They also reflected on what they had learnt and the hubs to consider for starting to plan post-pandemic education: digital coexistence, polarization, hate speech, digital gender violence, misinformation and social tensions arising from today’s digitised everyday life (algorithms, biases and social justice).
