The Ceibal Foundation invites you to a new meeting of the Ceibal Foundation Digital Space cycle, to be held next Tuesday, October 17th at 3:00 p.m., for reflections on intelligent systems in education. It will feature the participation as a specialist guest speaker of the expert in artificial intelligence and education Wayne Holmes, professor in the UCL Knowledge Lab at University College London, England.
Through key questions, this 45-minute webinar will seek to reflect on the impact of mainstreaming AI into education systems on learning, as well as what skills, competencies and areas of knowledge should be prioritized in order to understand AI tools with and use them in an innovative way to enrich educational proposals. Mr Holmes will also share his outlook on the potential risks of the use of AI and the challenges inherent in issues related to data privacy and security.
Ceibal Foundation Digital Space is a series of webinars inspired by Ceibal Foundation’s articulating institutional theme for 2023-2024: “Learning, intelligent systems and digital transformation”. The cycle seeks to create spaces for reflection on the challenges for Ceibal and education in Uruguay and the region through the specialist guest speaker and humour provided by Uruguayan actress and presenter Manuela da Silveira, who takes a different look at the central theme of each webinar. The proposed audio-visual activities are meant to facilitate clarity and the presentation of ideas, and they include a segment of live questions for interaction with the guest expert.
This event is aimed at policymakers, researchers, teachers and the education community at large.
