The Center for Research – Ceibal Foundation (Uruguay) has been invited to participate as one of the keynote during the next Global Symposium on ICT in Education 2015: “Innovation in Schools”. The summit Co-organized by Ministry of Education, Republic of Korea; The World Bank; UNESCO Bangkok (Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education); Intel Asia-Pacific and the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS) will be the next 4-6 November 2015, Incheon, Korea.
The theme of this year’s Symposium is “Innovation in Schools.” Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is widely considered to be of vital importance in increasing the effectiveness of education. Thus, many countries are investing enormous amounts of resources and efforts into ICT in Education in order to adequately reform their education systems.
The notion and initiative of transforming education by experimenting with “innovation in education” have been considered and debated around the world for many years. One approach to catalysing innovation in schools involves creating a national league of innovative schools and networking between these schools along with relevant counterparts worldwide. Such a ‘league of innovative schools’ can take many forms and can encompass a number of different plans.

During the event Dr. Cobo, on behalf of the Center for Research – Ceibal Foundation will present some of the challenges behind the change resistance in education and innovation, and will also describe some of the approached adopted by Plan Ceibal in order to reunderstand the assessments and the idea of learning outcomes in technology enhance learning environments.
