Ceibal Foundation invites you to a new meeting of the Ceibal Foundation Digital Space cycle, which will be held next Friday, April 21st at 3:00 p.m., for reflections on digital transformation in education. It will feature the participation as a specialist guest speaker of Max Drummy, Global Capacity Building Facilitator of New Pedagogies for Deep Learning (NPDL), a global innovation partnership of more than 20 countries focusing on the transformation of learning. Mr Drummy also co-led the Australian NPDL cluster, is a teacher and school leader with more than 25 years’ international experience, supports an Asia-Pacific deep learning network, and promotes this methodology so that every student can contribute to the common good, meet global challenges and thrive in a complex world.
By means of key questions, the purpose of this 45-minute webinar is to reflect on what a digital transformation in education implies and what elements must be taken into account, as well as the need for change in the teacher’s role. Mr Drummy will also share his outlook on the significance of mainstreaming new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, and developing strategies for using them to enrich education programmes and guide student learning.
Ceibal Foundation Digital Space is a series of webinars inspired by Ceibal Foundation’s articulating institutional theme for 2023-2024: “Learning, smart systems and digital transformation”. The cycle seeks to create spaces for reflection on the challenges for Ceibal and education in Uruguay and the region through the specialist guest speaker and humour provided by Uruguayan actress and presenter Manuela da Silveira, who takes a different look at the central theme of each webinar. The proposed audio-visual activities are meant to facilitate clarity and the presentation of ideas, and include a segment of live questions for interaction with the guest expert and María Florencia Ripani, Director of the Ceibal Foundation.
This event is aimed at policymakers, researchers, teachers and the education community at large.
