EdTech Winter School 2024

The Ceibal Foundation presents the 8th edition of the EdTech Winter School: Learning, intelligent systems and digital transformation, organized with the support of the National Research and Innovation Agency (ANII). The event will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 in the Los Ceibos building, LATU, and will be streamed live on the Foundation’s digital platforms. Its aim is to disseminate the efforts of both organizations alongside Ceibal and the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP) towards the creation and development of a research agenda that will inform public policies on innovation, education and technology. The activity is part of the Education Sector Fund: Digital Inclusion modality (FSED), which is jointly implemented by the Foundation and ANII, and whose focal point will be the intersection of the learning, intelligent systems and digital transformation dimensions.

The event is aimed at policymakers, researchers, academics and the education community at large. It will feature leading specialists, including Stéphan Vincent-Lancrin, senior analyst at the OECD Education Centre (Paris), presentations by authorities of the convening institutions, panels and a sample of projects selected in the context of the FSED. It will also provide a framework for the presentation of the 2024 FSED call. The Latin American EdTech community, brought together in the Alliance for the Digitalization of Education in Latin America (ADELA) coordinated by the Ceibal Foundation, will also participate.

The objective of the EdTech Winter School is to reflect on the current EdTech situation and identify gaps in order to inform new research projects to be submitted to the Education Sector Fund. The Education Sector Fund is aimed at research groups from national or international public or private institutions, which paves the way for the creation of regional partnerships and enhances the impact of the projects. In the event that the applicant is a foreign-based institution, it must have a local counterpart in Uruguay.
