ADELA: Alliance for the Digitalization of Education in Latin America
The Alliance for the Digitisation of Education in Latin America (ADELA) is an initiative coordinated by the Ceibal Foundation, originally funded by the International Development Research Centre of Canada (IDRC), aimed at promoting good practices in digital education, exchange evidence-based knowledge on policies and the generation of public policies in Latin America.
It was created in 2018 in response to the need to generate and exchange of knowledge to foster the development of more inclusive, equitable and quality education in the region, in the context of digitalization. It is made up of policy makers in the areas of innovation and digital education in the region as well as research centres, universities, think tanks and NGOs.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, ADELA played a fundamental role in monitoring the situation in the countries participating in the network, in addition to generating opportunities for analysis and regional cooperation.
ADELA carries out different actions, such as webinars, meetings and cooperation exchanges between interested parties in the region, and also organises an annual meeting with the representatives of each country.
